The Long Island Mozart Festival will present its 2013 festival and concerts on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 at Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Road in Old Westbury, New York. The festival features performances of the music of Mozart and other classical masters by an international array of artists. The events take place on the South Lawn of the estate.
For the first time, the Mainstage concerts will be presented later each day, at 4:00 and 6:00 PM, for a "cooler" concert experience. Additionally, supper and dinner type food will be available on-site for lawn picnic dining.
The May 25 concerts will feature pianist Sveltana Smolina performing Mozart sonatas, duets and piano trios with other members of the Chamber Players International Ensemble.
The May 26 Mainstage concerts will feature pianist Olga Vinokur and the World Youth Alliance Chamber Orchestra of the United Nations performing Mozart’s Concerto in A Major for piano and orchestra and other masterworks including Mozart's Violin Concerto #3 in G Major and the World Premiere of David Winkler's "Duo #3 for Viola and Cello" written especially for the Festival.
