The Long Island Mozart Festival will present its 2012 festival and concerts on Saturday, May 26, Sunday, May 27 and Monday, May 28 at Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Road in Old Westbury, New York.
The festival features performances of the music of Mozart and other classical masters by an international array of artists, as well as Debbie Surowicz' award-winning program Mozart for Children on the 26th starting at 11:30 AM, an instrument making crafts table, music in nature programs, a musical petting Zoo and tours of Old Westbury Gardens.
The May 26 at 2:30 PM Mainstage concert will feature Grammy-nominated violinist Anastasia Khitruk performing Mozart and Beethoven Sonatas for Violin and Piano with pianist Elena Baksht.
The May 27 Mainstage concerts will be given at 1:30 and 4:00 PM. Performers will be the WYA United Nations Chamber Orchestra, with pianist Philip Edward Fisher. Works to be performed on these concerts include Mozart’s Divertimento in F Major, Divertimento in D Major, KV 136 and Piano Concerto No. 27, 595 in Bb, along with J.S. Bach’s Double Violin Concerto and Brandenburg Concerto #3.
The May 28 Mainstage concerts will also be given at 1:30 and 4:00 PM. Featured performers will be violinist Anastasia Khitruk and pianist Elena Baksht, who will present Mozart and Beethoven Sonatas for Violin and Piano.
