Description

Community Housing Innovations (CHI), Inc. is hosting its’ 25th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Melville Marriott at 1350 Walt Whitman Road, Melville, NY.

CHI is excited to honor Conifer Realty LLC and People’s United Bank at its 25th Anniversary event. People’s United Bank has been a partner of CHI’s for over 10 years. As a longtime benefactor, People’s United has generously supported housing and human services programs that benefit homeless and low-to-moderate-income individuals and families such as home buyer education, counseling and grant assistance programs. Conifer Realty is being honored as a new partner to CHI, working to develop affordable housing options on Long Island. We look forward to a long and fulfilling relationship as we improve access to affordable housing in our communities.

CHI will also honor Pamela and Joseph Moshe of Charles Rutenberg Realty with the CHI Heroes award. A new award, the CHI Hero award going forward will be given out annually to a person or persons who have personally touched the lives of the people CHI serves. Last New Year’s Eve Day, Pam and Joe sponsored an event which brought almost 100 children living in CHI shelters to a movie day in Elmont. They have encouraged their real estate agents to give back to their communities, in whatever way they can. We are very excited to honor Pam and Joe as the first-ever CHI Heroes!

Jerome J. August, CHI’s longtime CFO, will be honored with the Founders Award. Jerry has been with the organization for 23 years, helping it grow from a budget of $3 million to an over $26 million nonprofit organization serving five New York Counties.
