We will hike up the west side of the park past the backyards of the neighboring houses, checking out the horses in the paddocks, then head to Bunce’s Bridge and come back along the river edge and pick up the Red Trail; heavy rain cancels; ; meet in the main parking lot on the north side of Sunrise Highway; from the west take NY 27 Exit 47A (Oakdale/Bohemia Rd.); follow signs for U-turn back onto NY 27 going west to park entrance on right; from the east take NY 27 west to park entrance on right; parking fee, or free with Empire Passport; bring water and snack; rain cancels; perhaps lunch at Bayard Cutting Arboretum afterwards?
