"Crewel Embroidery, a decorative form of surface embroidery, is very much like regular embroidery, except a thicker yarn is used. This technique is thousands of years old, and the origin of the word “crewel” is thought to come from the old Welsh word for wool, or the old English word “clew,” meaning “a ball of yarn.” In this class we will review the running stitch, whipped running stitch, split stitch, back stitch, and the chain stitch."
