“Don’t Dress for Dinner” Opens May 24
for Three-Week Run in Quogue

“Don’t Dress for Dinner”—a mile-a-minute comedy by Marc Camoletti adapted from the original French by Robin Hawdon—will be the fourth and final play of the Hampton Theatre Company’s 2017-2018 season, opening on May 24 at the Quogue Community Hall and running through June 10.

Bernard is planning a romantic weekend at his home with his chic Parisian mistress while his wife Jacqueline is away. He has hired a cook to prepare a gourmet dinner and has also invited his best friend Robert to provide an alibi. What could possibly go wrong? For starters, Robert and Jacqueline are actually secret lovers and are determined that Jacqueline will not leave for the weekend; the cook has to pretend she is the mistress and the mistress is unable to cook. As everyone’s alibi gets confused with everyone else’s, an evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard, Robert and Jacqueline are forced to improvise at breakneck speed.

This bawdy bedroom farce offers “two of the most rib-tickling, hilarious hours I have spent in the theatre in some time” (Chicago Style Magazine).

“Don’t Dress for Dinner" runs at the Quogue Community Hall from May 24 to June 10 with shows on Thursdays and Fridays at 7, Saturdays at 8 and Sundays at 2:30. An additional matinee performance will be offered during the final weekend of the production, on Saturday, June 9, prior to the regular 8 p.m. performance that evening.

A special lunch and theater package is available for the Saturday matinee on June 9 in association with the Quogue Club at the Hallock House. To reserve ticket or for more information visit www.hamptontheatre.org, or call OvationTix at 1-866-811-4111.
