"Flash Flood Watch" ...Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon... The Flash Flood Watch continues for * portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York, including the following areas, in southern Connecticut, Fairfield, Middlesex, New Haven, and New London. In northeast New Jersey, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (brooklyn), Nassau, New York (manhattan), Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond (staten island), Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester. * From Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon * low pressure approaches the tri-state area tonight and passes through on Thursday. Rain tonight becomes potentially heavy at times Thursday morning with the potential of heavy downpours into early afternoon. A total of 1.25 to 2.25 inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts possible in any stronger convection on Thursday. Flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas, as well as small streams will therefore be possible Thursday. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. Maloit , "Wind Advisory" ...Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am to 6 PM EST Thursday... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 9 am to 6 PM EST Thursday. * Winds...southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Timing...mid Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon. * Impacts...strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Drumming For Our Veterans - Benefit - Over 60 AMAZING Drummers from 4 States stepping up In Concert to raise funds for Veterans Serviced by the VA Hospital. Coordinated by Massapequa Elks, 100% of the proceeds goes for our Veterans. The show consists of Heartwarming Tributes to our Veterans and an eclectic array of talent.  JIm Royles' Steel Pan Ensemble from Conneticut, Long Island's own Hip PIckles Drum Band as well as Frank Bellucci,& Dave Clive.  The Multi Time World Champion Hawthorne Caballeos Alumni Drum Enemble as well as the NY Skyliners Drum Ensemble will also be featured as many,more phenominal drummers.  There will be World Percssion, Corps Percussion, Bucket Drumming, Drum Set Snare Drumming and Swiss Drummng- - - - and World Class Ceremonial Brass.  Great Family fun Jaw Dropping Drumming, Emotional tributes, may laugh and MORE. . .  C'mon out and Support our Veterans and Catch some amazing Beats.
