"Wind Advisory" ...Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight EST Monday night... * winds...northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Timing...tonight, through Monday and into Monday evening. * Impacts...strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, in open areas, and on elevated roads and bridges. Use extra caution. , "Special Statement" ...Very slippery conditions through tonight... temperatures will plummet through tonight well below freezing. As these temperatures fall, plenty of residual moisture and leftover standing water on area roads will freeze, or remain frozen. This will lead to areas of black ice. "Come share your experiences, concerns and join in discussions about epilepsy. Co-led by a social worker from the Epilepsy Foundation, and Dr. Bhumika Balgobin, a neurology resident at Stony Brook Medicine, each session is largely participant directed. Light refreshments are served. Free. Open to all patients, family members and caregivers."
