Description

WWBA is delighted to present Facing West: A Film Premiere and Discussion. H. Paul Moon will premiere his short film followed by a discussion with Darrel Blaine Ford and Cynthia Shor. Join us for this exciting event!

Facing West will premiere followed by a special conversation from the birthplace grounds between Executive Director Cynthia Shor, filmmaker H. Paul Moon, and Darrel Blaine Ford at his 90th birthday.  “Facing West” is a cinematic setting of poems by Walt Whitman, with Ford reciting and manifesting “Song of Myself,” “There Was a Child Went Forth,” “Give Me the Splendid Silent Sun” and “Facing West From California’s Shores.” Captured at the poet’s birthplace, the Long Island shore, Manhattan, and where West meets East, the new 10-minute film takes you on a journey through Walt Whitman’s life, and beyond.
