This documentary tells the story of Jean-Michel Basquiat—who died from an overdose at the age of 27 and whose works sell for record prices. Basquiat's story, told through exclusive interviews with art dealers Larry Gagosian, Mary Boone, and Bruno Bischofberger, as well as his sisters, friends, lovers, and fellow artists, exposes the cash, drugs, and racism that Basquiat confronted on a daily basis.
