Date & Time
We’re inviting everyone to help the North Fork Animal Welfare League celebrate 55 years of lifesaving on the East End. From humble beginnings, the League has evolved from a handful of fully committed volunteers who acted as the de facto municipal animal shelter of the North Fork, to becoming the nonprofit organization holding the animal control contracts for both Southold and Riverhead. Now, we are able to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home every treatable companion animal in need – including many nontraditional companion animals, too. We are able to do this because our community values precious animal lives and provides the support to ensure as many animals as possible get a chance to join the loving forever families they deserve.
Our recent acquisition of a new facility for the Riverhead Animal Shelter has increased our need for support. The structure requires upgrades to meet the Association of Shelter Veterinarians’ Guidelines to Standards of Care in Animal Shelters. We are encouraging anyone who wants to help the League right now to please buy a ticket or table to the Gala.
