Sat, Aug 01, 2020Galveston, Texas, 1910. Sam and Rosario Maceo, two Sicilian brothers, arrive penniless into the bustling port city with nothing but a dream. Seizing their first opportunity, the brothers start bootlegging; in no time they outwit the local thugs who control the liquor on the island. They build an empire of casinos, nightclubs and liquor houses, all the while staying one step ahead of the Texas Rangers. The brothers ultimately outsmart the authorities to transform Galveston into the glittering ‘Vegas before Vegas’.
