Description

The Gold Coast Arts Center presents Chinese Artists in America, a new art exhibit featuring eight contemporary Chinese-American artists who have created a new visual language that embodies aspects of traditional Chinese art while responding to a time of great transition. The exhibition reflects the creative vitality of Chinese-American cultural growth through the arts and its historical and aesthetic linkage to other communities. The works express the artist’s personal beliefs, national pride, and international awareness. Artists presentations will include the works of Yafu Wang, Ping Wang, Arthur Liu, Zhen Guo, Huang Yulin, Wei Hai, Xiangdong Shi, and Dexiang Qian.

An opening reception will be held at the Gold Coast Art Center, 113 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck, NY 11021 on Sunday, January 13, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature a musical performance with Chinese string instruments and traditional Chinese refreshments. This is a free event.

The exhibition will be on display at the Arts Center from January 13, 2019, to March 30, 2019. Hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information can be found at www.goldcoastarts.org/chinese-artists-in-america/ or by calling 516-829-2570.
