Hike to a fantastic view of the Great South Bay in Heckscher State Park; drop out after 6 miles, or if you wish continue to explore the beautiful Bayard Cutting Arboretum; bring water and lunch; rain or snow cancels; meet at Great River LIRR station; Southern State Parkway to Exit 45E, Montauk Highway east; make a left at first light, Connetquot Avenue, and drive about 1/2 mile to station; park on south side; joint hike with NHOC.
