"There are many reptiles and amphibians that call the Long Island Pine Barrens home, some of which are rare and endangered! Learn more about these species, their importance and protection, with this guided hike by herpetologist and wildlife photographer, Alex Roukis. We will be on the lookout for several species and hope to be lucky enough to find some in the wild.
We will be touring Swezey Pond within the Cranberry Bog Nature Preserve in Riverhead, NY. The hike is just less than a mile and appropriate for children and adults alike.
