"Explore the latest addition to the Pine Barrens, the Shoreham-Wading River Coastal Forest, with Pine Barrens Society Co-Founder and naturalist, John Turner. Targeted for clearing and leveling to build a solar farm in 2018, this last remaining coastal forest on Long Island was saved when the Pine Barrens Society successfully advocated for its protection by New York State. Come enjoy its beauty!
