Halloween is a month long celebration at Stew Leonard's Farmingdale with a series of family friendly events, including the first ever Barkfest on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 5 p.m. Costumed canines will compete for top dog honors and a basket of goodies valued at $100. To enter your pet bring a can of dog food or small bag of treats that will be donated to a local animal shelter.
Another highlight - book signing by Steve Simmons, author of Alice and Greta, about two young witches who learn the timeless message that a good deed always triumphs over a bad one. There will be wand making too!
And all month long, every day from 8 a.m. to dark the free Hay Maze will beckon kids of all ages to navigate its twists and turns festively decorated with pumpkins, scarecrows, and corn stalks.
