Description

In addition to Harbes’ usual attractions such as the Barnyard Adventure, singing hayrides, wine tastings, and music by Bob Blatchley on Saturday and The Two Dons on Sunday, the festival will feature scarecrow relay races, pumpkin bowling, border collie demonstrations, corn cannons, pumpkin piñata, hot potato toss, and more…

The festival and its activities run from 10 AM until 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday at Harbes Family Farm at 715 Sound Avenue in Mattituck.

“During the last ten years, the success of our vineyard has been very rewarding,” says Ed Harbes, general manager at Harbes Family Farms. “The Fall represents a time of joy and harvest for farmers. Our festival to celebrate the harvest is the perfect way for the community to join together with us and share in the experience.”

Harbes Wines have won numerous awards in competitions and magazine ratings including Best Unoaked Chardonnay and Best Overall Chardonnay in New York State at the 2013 New York Wine & Food Classic competition. Harbes Vineyard is also proud to be a part of the Long Island Sustainable Winegrowing, an organization dedicated to environmentally responsible production.

Also scheduled for the festival is the introduction of Greenport Harbor Brewing Company’s Leaf Pile Ale. It is an autumn ale with fresh whole ginger, cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, and a trace of real pumpkin, which gives this ale its distinct character. “Leaf Pile Ale brings you the taste of a slice of pumpkin pie in a glass,” says Greenport Harbor Brewing
