Description

Workshop Leader: Melanie Meade, South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) Nature Educator

Long Island’s glacial history has left us with a unique geology that created aquifers—underground water reservoirs that are the source of much of Long Island’s drinking water. Using a groundwater model, we can visualize how human actions can cause harm to our drinking water supply and what we can do to help protect this critical resource. Take the “drinking water taste test” and see if you can tell the difference between bottled water and water from a town or a healthy, private well source.

Advance reservations are required for all events. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please call: (631) 537-9735.
