Date & Time
"An artist may create works of art in a broad range of media but an artistic idea often begins with a drawing. Drawings, whether created in pencil, ink or pastel, exhibit a greater immediacy and closer connection to the artist. They can be studies for another work in a different medium, incomplete ideas or finished images. This program highlights some of the remarkable drawings from the Hofstra University Museum of Art’s collection, by artists such as Benny Andrews, Leonard Baskin, Jean Cocteau, Nancy Grossman, Philip Pearlstein, Diego Rivera, Norman Rockwell, George Romney, Isaac Soyer, Abraham Walkowitz and Benjamin West."
