Would you like to write a children’s picture book? If so, this course includes everything you’ll need to know, including hooking your reader, character development, showing vs. telling in scenes, narrator, beginnings and endings, conflict, pacing, climax, wordplay, balance of art and text, writing a cover letter, and preparing your manuscript for submission. There will be topic-based writing assignments each week to be shared with the class the following week for constructive feedback. There will be a collection of children’s books that show examples of the topics of the day. Students will learn playful and calming exercises to connect with their child-self and get into their creative zone.
Cost per session: $ 200 EEA members / $ 240 non-members
