In this 1947 radio adaptation of Frank Capra’s beloved holiday film, a common man named George Bailey falls so far into despair that his guardian angel Clarence is pressed into service. Clarence shows George how many people he has touched and how wonderful his life really is—just in time for Christmas.
"It's a Wonderful Life" is the grand finale of a Fall Radio Drama Series co-presented by Port Washington Play Troupe and WCWP (88.1 FM, the community public radio station of LIU Post). The series features vintage radio scripts and songs from the era, and is recorded in front of a live studio audience.
"It's a Wonderful Life" is also the first performance in Play Troupe's November 22 Day-Night DOUBLE FEATURE. At 8pm, also at the Hillwood Recital Hall, Play Troupe presents "Save the Music Long Island" featuring Rich Jacques and Friends, a fundraiser for VH1 Save the Music Foundation and a new music scholarship at LIU Post.
