Description

JEWS AND BASEBALL: AN AMERICAN LOVE STORY (91 minutes), explores the connection between Jewish Americans and baseball, our nation's most iconic institution. More than a film about sports, it is a story of immigration, assimilation, bigotry, herosim, the npassing on of traditions and the shattering of stereotypes.

Interviews include fans, writers executives and especially players - including Al Rosen, Kevin Youkilis, Shawn Green, Norm Sherry, Ron Blomberg, Bob Feller, and a rare interview with the legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax.

Dustin Hoffman narrates this engaging story of great drama, unforgettable games and the broad sweep of American history.

There will be a tasty Kosher nosh served. The event is open to the public and Free of charge. We ask that you please register in advance (food will be ordered and we need to know how much food to order). To register please call the Temple Israel Office at (516) 239-1140, or email office@tilny.org.

This event is part of "Jewish Sports Heritage Month," April, 2020.
