Date & Time
Kindergarten means BIG CHANGE for kids. It means a new schedule, new kids and new grown-ups, a new building to get used to. There are also new rules and expectations to adjust to. That is a lot to take in! So, a lot kids are (rightfully) nervous about the transition. Frequently that means their emotions are erratic and they aren't quite acting like themselves.
The Kindergarten Confidence Experience aims to help children with this transition by giving them the tools they need to begin to master their emotions. We will read books about Kindergarten, and discuss the concept of change, and how they can adjust their mindset to accept it as a part of life. We will explore breathing exercises that they can implement when they are feeling upset, worried, or stressed. We will also play games and do crafts related to kindness, compassion and gratitude -- all concepts that promote confidence in oneself.
