Make Your Own Medicine Pouch with Walter Crow

Sunday, March 4th from 2:00 - 5:00pm

Exchange: $50.00

A medicine pouch is traditionally worn as a means of carrying small sacred items, such as crystals or a carved fetish, and sacred herbs, like bear root and sage, for protection and connection with one’s animal totems and places of power. These small pouches can be worn around the neck during ceremony, social gatherings, and healing sessions. They can also be tied to other medicine bundles, sacred items, placed on altars, or used to adorn cravings and statues.
Medicine pouches are traditionally made from brain-tan leather and decorated with beads, tin cones, porcupine quills, and shells.

Everything you need to make a three inch by three inch medicine pouch will be provided: brain-tan leather, beads, shells, and tin cones. Sage, lavender, tobacco, blue corn meal, and bear root will also be provided and may be used to fill your pouch. Bring your own crystals, fetishes, or sacred items! Walter Crow will guide you through the sewing and will teach you some basic beading techniques, including the Sioux Lazy Stitch, so you can add some “bead-bling” to your medicine pouch.

Join Walter Crow for this unique workshop experience and make your own personalized medicine pouch.
