Everyone needs wisdom. With wisdom, we can discern what we need to embrace and what we need to abandon. With wisdom we develop beneficial understandings and intentions that will lead us to inner peace, freedom and the pure happiness of enlightenment. The word “prajna” means wisdom and “paramita” means perfection. Buddha Prajnaparamita is therefore a manifestation of the Perfection of Wisdom. She is called “The Great Mother” because all Buddhas are born from this wisdom which is associated with deep compassion for all living beings.
