NONFICTION READING COLLECTIVE at BOOKHAMPTON 2/28 @ 4:00 PM

Join Long Island authors at Book Hampton Friday, February 28th at 4:00 pm.  to hear about their collective nonfiction works. Readings will be followed by a
Q & A session on their books as well as the art of memoir, nonfiction, and inspirational writing.

Memorist, Heather Siegel, will be reading from her award-winning, coming-of age story about an absurdly dysfunctional upbringing with her funeral-director father, set on Long Island in the 1970's & 1980's, OUT FROM THE UNDERWORLD, which Philip Lopate calls "...a dark, riveting memoir with refreshing if mordant humor, rueful tenderness and compassion."

Memoirist and Professor, Paul Pitcoff, will be reading from his coming-of-age memoir, about uncovering his parents' secret lives, set in the 40's and 50's in Greenwich Village, COLD WAR SECRETS: Unscrambling the Certain Uncertainties of Family Secrets, which Kirkus Reviews hails as "..A memoir overflowing with drama that evocatively re-creates the atmosphere of peril and uncertainty during the Cold War.”

Inspirational speaker, Georgette Van Vliet, will be reading from her self-help book EMPOWERED: Practical Ways to Take Charge of Your Life. discussing how she overcame depression and anxiety to live a life of love, joy, and abundance, and offering tips for self-improvement.
