Chinese music, rich in history, bridges ceremonies, entertainment, emotions, and harmony with nature. Embark on an enchanting odyssey this Lunar New Year with award-winning musicians Zhou Yi and Yimin Miao from the Ba Ban Chinese Music Society, as they lead you through ancient dizi (bamboo flutes), pipa (silk-stringed lutes), Chinese gongs, and drums. Through captivating melodies inspired by the Silk Road and Yangtze River, this performance offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in stories from distant horizons.
This musical performance will take place at the Great Neck Library, 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, NY, on Saturday, January 31, at 2:00 p.m. Doors will open at 1:45 p.m., and seating will be first-come, first-served. On this day of Lunar New Year celebration, we also have the Traditions of Chinese Acrobatics Performance with Li Lu at 11:00 a.m., Arts and crafts activities in the gallery from 12:00–4:00 p.m., and an Author Event with Aram Kim at 1:00 p.m.
