On June 5th 2014, Mercy Haven, Inc. will host their 15th Annual Golf Outing in an effort to raise critical funds for the many programs and services the agency provides to the most at-risk populations of the Long Island community.
A community bank and a local sports legend have announced that they will join Mercy Haven, Inc. for this wonderful event.
This outing is is open to the public.
NY Mets Legend and LI Ducks Owner Bud Harrelson will once again be in attendance, offering up the "Closest to the Pin" challenge.
If you beat him, you will be entered to win an exciting evening at a Ducks game, bells and quackers included!
Empire National Bank Vice President and Branch Manager Dorothy Overton, who serves as board chair for Mercy Haven, emphasized Empire’s commitment to community issues and local residents through its support for a cause that focuses on fair and equitable housing for all Long Islanders. Empire National Bank has been the Tournament Sponsor for Mercy Haven’s Annual Golf Outing for the past several years.
“Everyone deserves safe and dignified housing,” says Overton. “We can all agree on this. Mercy Haven has been making it happen for some of Long Island’s most at-risk residents for more than 28 years.” She added, “The golf outing is a wonderful way to meet neighbors, network, and show support for one of the causes that makes Long Island a great place to live.”
The all-day schedule for Thursday, June 5th includes 9:30 am registration, a breakfast buffet, 11:00 am shotgun start, a barbeque lunch, and - for both golfers and non-golfers - cocktails and dinner from 4:00-7:30 pm.
Fabulous hole-in-one prizes, dozens of raffle baskets and a silent auction will also be part of the event.
