Description

(mostly) TRUE THINGS is a game wrapped in a storytelling show with a side of music. Four storytellers tell true stories from their own lives, but 3 of them weave in a few subtle little lies. The audience gets to question them, then votes for the person they think told it straight. There are prizes involved, if you can believe a thing like that. And the whole truth about each story comes out in the end. Host/creator Jude Treder-Wolff keeps the energy high and sings songs written to set up each stage of the game, including an improvised one with a verse about each story in the show.

The opening act is a set by the improv team Overthinkers Anonymous.

Featured storytellers in this show are:

Tracy Segarra (host/creator of Now You're Talking, Moth Grand Slam winner, NPR's Moth Radio Hour, RISK! and many other shows)

Joey Novick (writer/performer of the award-winning solo show Comedian Runs For Town Council, The Liar Show, This Really Happened, seen on Comedy Central and storytelling shows all over the NY area)

Andrea Lawl Manning (artist, and co-creator and host of The MUSE Exchange, which produces open mics and performance opportunities for Long Island artists)

Ihab Ibrahim (St Joseph Hospital leadership team, storyteller returning to (mostly) TRUE THINGS).

This show is produced by Lifestage, Inc based in Smithtown.
