Date & Time
When firefighters die in the line of duty, the entire fire service and Country grieves. We look for ways to make sure their lives and their sacrifices are honored. We also want to ensure that the families, departments and friends of the fallen find comfort and resources they need to rebuild their lives.
Participants will climb 2,200 steps in Belmont Park or virtually from locations across the world. These steps symbolize the 110 stories of the World Trade Center Towers - the ascent that FDNY firefighters took on September 11, 2001 – and the ultimate sacrifice that 343 first responders made that day. Your individual tribute not only remembers the sacrifice of a FDNY brother, but symbolically completes their heroic journey to save others. Through firefighter and community participation we can ensure that each of the 343 firefighters is honored and that the world knows we will never forget.
Join hundreds of FDNY firefighters as well as firefighters from around the Country to honor America’s fallen heroes in honor of the 20th anniversary of that fatal day.
This is the official FDNY National Stair Climb in partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
