"Flash Flood Watch" ...Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon... The Flash Flood Watch continues for * portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York, including the following areas, in southern Connecticut, Fairfield, Middlesex, New Haven, and New London. In northeast New Jersey, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (brooklyn), Nassau, New York (manhattan), Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond (staten island), Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester. * From Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon * low pressure approaches the tri-state area tonight and passes through on Thursday. Rain tonight becomes potentially heavy at times Thursday morning with the potential of heavy downpours into early afternoon. A total of 1.25 to 2.25 inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts possible in any stronger convection on Thursday. Flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas, as well as small streams will therefore be possible Thursday. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. Maloit , "Wind Advisory" ...Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am to 6 PM EST Thursday... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 9 am to 6 PM EST Thursday. * Winds...southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Timing...mid Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon. * Impacts...strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Description

The 3rd Annual New York AutoFest Thanksgiving Car Show & Food Drive will be on November 11 in beautiful downtown Oyster Bay Last year we collected over 8500 pounds of food so let's see if we can beat that!
 
The food will be donated to LI Cares Harry Chapin Food Bank who will be present to thank everyone for their donations. Vehicle entry fee is $25 + 2 pounds or more of non-perishable food.
 
If anyone knows a restaurant that would like to donate please have then contact us, their logo will be placed on the flyer and they will get a lot of exposure.
