Description

"Join Charles Calello and his big band as he celebrates the hits he has been a part of throughout his decades long career.  With a discography that includes over 100 “Billboard” chart records, Charles Calello is regarded as one of the greatest arrangers of our time. Some of the biggest entertainers of the twentieth century, including Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Ray Charles, Engelbert Humperdinck, Roberto Carlos, Neil Diamond, Laura Nyro, Paul Anka, Barry Manilow, Juice Newton, Ronnie Milsap, Willie Nelson and Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons, have relied on Calello’s musical genius. Calello’s work with The 4 Seasons in the early sixties helped spawn a chain of hit records that catapulted the group to stardom and created a sound that is still unique today. In 1965/66 Calello actually replaced Nick Massi and toured with The 4 Seasons, but throughout that period, he also arranged and produced several other hit records which included “The Name Game” with Shirley Ellis, “Blue Navy Blue” with Diane Renay, “A Lover’s Concerto” with The Toys and “Lightning Strikes” with Lou Christie. Calello eventually settled comfortably into a career as an independent arranger, producer and composer, working between New York, California and Brazil, recording music that earned him international acclaim. His recordings include more Top 10 Hits than any other arranger, 15 of which have been nominated for Grammy Awards. In October 2000, Calello was honored for his talent and artistic contribution to the music industry with an induction into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, as one of The 4 Seasons." - Adelphi University Performing Arts Center
