Explore four private gardens in Cutchogue, Flanders, Mt. Sinai, and Wading River, open to the public for self-guided tours to benefit the Garden Conservancy. No reservations required; rain or shine. Begin at the Ansalone garden or see website for additional locations. Admission is $5 per garden; children 12 & under free. Highlights include a massive log gazebo fronting a wetland along Peconic Bay, antique and salvaged garden ornaments and landscape art, many native plants, woodland paths, a 6,000-gallon koi pond, waterfalls and other water features, container plantings, and a stone patio surrounded by a lush shade garden.
