For its 2021 Road Show, Water Mill, NY’s Parrish Art Museum has invited mixed-media artist Darlene Charneco to create a site-specific exhibition, Symbiosome Schoolhouse, at OHS’s Old Point Schoolhouse.
Ms. Charneco is an East End-based, contemporary Latin-American artist who creates mixed-media mapping series to explore and navigate the layered spaces we live in. She is currently artist-in-residence at the William Steeple Davis Trust studying, living, and working in the artist’s former house and studio in Orient, NY.
Charneco’s Parrish Road Show project will consist of an indoor and outdoor exhibition. Outside, in front of the Schoolhouse building entrance, Charneco will create a large free-standing sculpture that will be visible from Village Lane.
Admission is FREE for OHS members and $10 for non-member adults, which grants same-day access to all OHS buildings & exhibitions."
