South Bay Bible Church is pleased to announce that Pastor Cory and Pamela Pettway will minister on Sunday, February 11, at 578 Montauk Highway, East Moriches. There will be four concert times: 8:00, 9:30, 11:00, and 4:00. All concerts are free, open to the public, and no tickets are necessary.
Pamela has been a soloist for the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir since 2003. Before that, she was a rap artist who recorded with Virgin Records. Pamela’s first solo with the choir was “You Were There,” and she says, “It was like singing my life story.” She also sings “Church Medley,” “Heaven on my Mind,” among others. Pamela was featured in He’s Been Faithful by Carol Cymbala.
In addition to this free concert, Pamela will be sharing her story. Her childhood seemed perfect, but it all shattered suddenly when her parents unexpectedly divorced. Her world fell apart. From shabby apartments to evictions, Pamela went from active church-goer to wondering where God was and did he even care. Loneliness and despair filled Pamela’s life, and she even contemplated suicide. However, through a friend, God began to change things.
“The tragic part of Pamela’s story is not all that different from many that I hear. Divorce can be so destructive. Pam relates to people on many different levels,” says Martin Hawley, senior pastor. “Her story is one of intrigue and hope. It will bring you encouragement and a new perspective.”
