Temple Israel, Lawrence, cordially invites you to attend the virtual gallery exhibit of "Photographs: The Old City, a Contemporary Look at The Old City of Jerusalem," with documentary photographer Bess Greenberg, on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 7:30 p.m.
Bess, who is a visual and musical artist, recently performed an online concert for Temple Israel, Lawrence, was from August, 2005-May, 2006, living in Israel, playing professional basketball for Anda Ramat-Hasharon, when she set out to document the life of The Old City.
Composed of four quarters - the Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Armenian - The Old City presented a contrast of cultures that was inescapable. It is these neighborhoods that Bess documents in her stunning black and white photographs.
