Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, in open areas, and on elevated roads and bridges. Description

Celebrate the long weekend with an afternoon walk from, appropriately, Washington Avenue in Plainview to Bethpage State Park; rain, snow or icy conditions cancels; meet at west end of picnic area parking lot at Bethpage Park for car shuttle; take Bethpage Pkwy. north to traffic circle, go ¾ around, continue to entrance to picnic area road; or NY 135 south to Powell Ave. exit, then left across highway to entrance.
