"All are welcome for a presentation by Geology Professor George Lomaga on Volcanos. Often overlooked, but a spectacular reminder of the Earth's molten core beneath us, volcanos have played a significant role in development of civilizations and have profoundly affected the climate of our planet. Weather permitting, the activity begins in the upper Preserve parking lot, with a guided nature walk exploring the woods dunes, and beach of Hallock State Park Preserve. The presentation on volcanos begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Visitor Center. Weather permitting, the event will conclude with an observation of the five planets lined up in the evening Autumn sky.
