Description

Romare Bearden: Overlapping Meanings
This program will explore the artist Romare Bearden in a five-part, live, virtual series. It will
include the history of how the Hofstra University Museum of Art acquired the artist’s prints
and their narrative of the African American experience, touching upon elements of the Great
Migration, the Harlem Renaissance, family life and universal hero themes. A focus on his
printmaking process will consist of a virtual demonstration from EFA Robert Blackburn
Printmaking Workshop in NYC and an art activity with a Museum Educator.
Events are free. Registration is required.
