Did you know tht April is National Youth Sports Saety Month?

  • Sudden Cardiac Arrst (SCA) is a condton in which the heart unexpectedly stops beating, halting blood flow to the brain and vital organs.
  • 2,000 patients under age 25 die of SCA every year in the U.S. according to the Center for Disease Control

In celebration of National Youth Sport Safety Month, NYU Winthrop Hospital Sports Medicine program will be hosting a FREE educational event on Tuesay, April 17 2018. 

During this lecture you will hear from Cardiologist Dr. Raio on the importance of having your athlete screened prior to athletic participation, and what to do in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.
