Did you know that April is National Youth Sports Safety Month?

  • Knee injuries, including Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tears are the leading cause of lost game and practice time for both boys and girls.
  • At the high shool level, ankle sprains represent 21% of all reported injuries for girls, and 16% for boys.

In celebration of National Youth Sports Safety Month, NYU Winthrop Hospital Sports Medicine Program will be hosting a FREE educational event on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

During this lectue you will hear from NYU Winthrop Athletic Trainer Chris Napoli, and New York Lizards Lacrosse player Steve DeNapoli on common injuries in lacrosse, and how Athletic Trainers and the sports medicine team have played a vital role Steve's lacrosse career.
