This is a walking tour of Brookhaven Town’s Original Settlement. Brookhaven Town was founded in 1655 and the Town was based in Setauket until the end of the 18th Century when the town officers and political center moved to Coram.
Discover Setauket’s rich history as you explore its architecture and beautiful natural environment. Visit the cemetery where the leader of the Setauket Spy Ring is buried, near the resting place of the artist William Sydney Mount. See the 17th century homes of sea captains. Homes and structures detailed on the walking tour range from the late 1600’s to the late 20th century. The tour begins and ends at the Setauket Presbyterian Church, 5 Caroline Avenue in Setauket.
All tours are one and a half hours long. No reservations necessary. Please arrive 5 minutes before the tour time to ensure a prompt start.
