Sid Jacobson JCC invites community members of all ages to walk, run, and cheer each other on at its 2019 Stronger Than Cancer 5K, taking place on Sunday, October 13, 9:30am, at the JCC in East Hills. Participants can now register for the 5K at sjjcc.org/5k.
The annual event benefits SJJCC’s Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Center (NMCWC) which provides much-needed programming, including exercise classes, discussion groups, counseling services, and more. Programs are open to those living with cancer throughout all stages of treatment and survivorship while helping participants feel active, resilient and empowered in body, mind, and spirit. Thanks to funding from the Stronger Than Cancer 5K and other events such as the JCC’s annual Spin Event, most of these vital programs are free to participants.
The race will begin on the grounds of Sid Jacobson JCC and travels through Country Estates. The $20 entry fee includes a 5K t-shirt, food and refreshments, and race awards. The race will commence at 9:30 a.m. sharp and takes place rain or shine at 300 Forest Drive, East Hills, NY.
