Description

   Jewish Sports Heritage Association and Temple Israel, Lawrence cordially invite you to attend the Zoom presentation of the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award to Sir Ben Helfgott on Sunday morning December 6, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.

   Sir Ben Helfgott is a truly remarkable individual - a Polish Holocaust survivor, British Olympian, successful businessman, founder of the 45 Aid Society, founding trustee of the Holocaust Educational Trust and in 2018, he was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of his contribution to services to Holocaust remembrance and education.

   Sir Ben survived two labor camps and three concentration camps and he became a champion weightlifter, the only known concentration camp survivor to have participated in the Olympics (1956 & 1960).
