Skip Wachsberger was a pillar of the Orient gardening community for several decades before his passing in 2011. Not only was Skip’s Adsworthy Garden, which he started in 1983, an inspiration to local gardeners, but he also designed several gardens in Orient, some of which are on the tour.
Please enjoy visiting and experiencing these gardens of Orient Village—next year we intend to focus on East Marion!
The Skip Wachsberger Memorial Garden Tour is designed to complement the Village House Exhibition, “An Orient Garden,” curated by Charles Dean (opens to the public starting Saturday, May 29th @ 11am), which includes photos of the garden throughout its 38 years, paintings inspired by the garden, and other materials related to Skip’s gardening interests.
Please take care to stay on paths and not step into the garden beds.
Please follow social distancing and mask-wearing protocols.
All gardens featured are in the central village and most will be able to walk the entire tour."
