Sunrise Wind Hosting Supply Chain Forum in Nassau County to Match Local Businesses with Work in New York’s Growing Offshore Wind Supply Chain

Forum hosted by joint developers Ørsted and Eversource will help New York businesses connect with “Tier 1” suppliers on potential job opportunities for the Sunrise Wind project

WHAT: Sunrise Wind joint development partners Ørsted and Eversource are hosting an offshore wind Supply Chain Forum on November 30 in Uniondale, New York, which will feature large, awarded project suppliers – “Tier 1” suppliers – sharing details on opportunities for supporting vendors and subcontractors to work on the Sunrise Wind project.

Ørsted and Eversource are the first offshore wind developers to host Tier 1 supply chain forums in New York; the latest is the second of three such forums they’re hosting in the state.

The forum will feature remarks from NYSERDA President and CEO Doreen Harris, Sunrise Wind senior leadership and Tier-1 suppliers. More than 200 attendees have registered to participate in the event, which aims to aims to match New York businesses with near-term opportunities in the offshore wind supply chain.

The approximately 924-megawatt Sunrise Wind project will be located more than 30 miles east of Montauk Point and will generate enough clean energy to power nearly 600,000 New York homes. It is expected to be operational in 2025.

Ørsted and Eversource plan a direct investment of more than $400 million in New York State to build Sunrise Wind. In total, Sunrise Wind will create up to 800 direct jobs during construction and thousands more indirect and induced jobs to support project work.

Onshore construction is well underway on the joint developers’ South Fork Wind – New York’s first offshore wind farm, serving Long Island.

The third supply chain forum will be held in Suffolk County in spring 2023.
