During this nutrition and cooking class, we will focus on food and cancer, specifically cancers related to hormone health. Estrogens and Testosterone can go up or down depending on what we eat, affecting our cancer risk. For women, that includes breast, uterine and ovarian cancer. For men, that includes prostate and testicular cancer. Food can also help us maintain a healthy thyroid giving us the energy we need and lowering our risk of hypo- and hyperthyroidism. Attendees learn all of this while enjoying cooking demonstrations, tasting delicious, healthful dishes and taking home useful class materials and recipes, all in a supportive group setting.
This 3 hour program from the Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine and taught by a certified instructor combines all the nutrition education and 5 recipe demonstrations from two PCRM Food for Life Classes: Tackling Cancer for Men and Women and A Healthy Thyroid. This class is limited to 8 participants and pre-registration is required. Early Bird and Buddy discounts are available.
