Adam Piore, contributing editor at "Popular Science" and "Discover Magazine," will discuss his new book "The Body Builders, Inside the Science of The Engineered Human," at Temple Israel of Lawrence, 140 Central Avenue, Lawrence, N.Y., on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.
The book explores the field of bioengineering, which is allowing researchers to unlock untapped resilience in the human body and mind. Each chapter tells the story of a patient or researcher whose experiences or discoveries are changing our understanding of how the human body and mind work and our capabilities.
Adam Piore is a former "Newsweek Magazine" correspondent. Over the course of his career, he has covered Congress, lived in post-war Cambodia, covered 9/11 from Ground Zereo and spent time with the U.S. Military in Iraq.
