The East Meadow Public Library is proud to announce the Grand Opening of " The Paintings of Russ Poore : an Exhibition " on Sunday, May 6th, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. The show runs through the month of May. Classical music and light refreshments will be served at the Grand Opening. Poore, who passed away last summer, grew up in East Meadow in a very artistic and musical family. After graduation, Russ attended The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan before joining up with the N.Y.F.D. and becoming the ART Director of the N.Y.F.D. Magazine in the process.The eclectic nature of his works are on display in this exhibit with examples of portraiture, seascapes, mixed-media, still lifes,cityscapes, fantasy,collages, and whimsy. Prints of the paintings can be ordered at the event.
